It may be mentioned here that, a joint investigation team comprised officials of the Appraising Intelligence Branch (AIB)-MCC Appraisement-West and Research and Development (R&D) Section of MCC-Appraisement-East during the month of May 2015 presented a challan against Muhammad Ali Chandna before Customs Court in which the Customs authorities sought appearance of the prime suspect before the Court for questioning.

It is pertinent to mention here that several hearings of the case have already been conducted by the Judge of Customs Court during last three months. However, the prime suspect Muhammad Ali Chandna has not attended a single hearing of the case yet.

During the last hearing, the investigation officer of AIB/R&D-MCC Appraisement-West requested the Court to issue order of the appearance for Muhammad Ali Chandna before the Court and also took sign on an undertaking from the counsel of the suspect that he would present Chandna before the Court during the next hearing on June 8, 2015 but this time too an interim bail was taken by the counsel of Muhammad Ali Chandna.
