Customs Court adjourns hearing of 14 cases due to absence of parties

LAHORE: Special Federal Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling conducted the hearing of 14 different cases on Friday but all of the cases were rescheduled for new dates as most of the parties were absent from the court.

On Friday, customs court was presenting a deserted look because of the shortage of staff. Lawyers were also not present in the courts on Friday.

The Lahore High Court (LHC) and sub-ordinate courts in Punjab remained closed on account of Eidul Azha from September 12 to 14 but regular hustle and bustle is still not returned to the courts.

On second day after Eid customs court was almost deserted as 14 cases were adjourned for new dates without any proceedings. Number of employees of the courts were also absent. On other hand most of the parties in different cases were also absent from courts on first working day after Eid.
