Customs Court issues arrest warrants for owner of Al Nasir Enterprises

KARACHI: Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling Court Judge Syed Faiz Rasool Rashdi has issued non-bailable warrants for the absconding accused namely Muhammad Zaka Mushtaq, proprietor of M/s Al-Nasir Enterprises. The suspect was booked in a case of mis-declaration.

During the hearing, accused Noman son of Abdul Rauf was present  after arrest bail vide order dated June 14, 2016. Another accused Sharjeel Jamal was also present on bail granted by the Sindh High Court. However, a third accused Muhammad Zaka Mushtaq was shown as absconder. The investigation officer produced final charge sheet against the accused persons which was accepted by the court.

After the hearing, the court issued non bailable warrant against the suspect and adjourned the hearing for Feb 2, 2017.

According to the prosecution, a case was registered by Appraising Officer Arshad Ahmed, Model Customs Collectorate Appraisement west under section 16, 32 9 (1) 32 (2) 32A, 79 of the Customs Act, 1969 punishable under clauses 9, 14, 14-A & 46 of section 156 (1) ibid read with Import & Export (Control) Act, 1950.
