Customs Court adjourns hearing of sales tax matter

LAHORE: The special federal court of Customs taxation and anti smuggling has adjourned case of an accused arrested on charge of sales tax evasion.

According to details available to customs today accused Wamiq Zaka was arrested by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Inland Revenue in huge sales tax evasion. Sources said that accused was arrested after intelligence information that he is evading sales tax in millions of rupees.

After confirming the evasion of tax Inland Revenue got arrest warrants of the accused from Customs Court and booked him from Lahore under Pakistan sales tax act 1992.

Inland Revenue presented him before the court after physical remand where customs court ordered to send him jail on judicial remand. He also got bail from the court after judicial remand.

Accused wamiq zaka is involved in evasion of sales tax in millions or rupees in his trading and manufacturing business.
