Customs Court declares suspect as proclaimed offender

LAHORE: The Special Court of Customs and taxation has declared a suspect as proclaimed offender for not appearing in court since long.

Earlier, the Customs Court had ordered the suspect, Muhammad Tanveer, a resident of Gujrat, to appear in court within 10 days, as he was wanted by the authorities in a smuggling case.

According to details, the Customs Lahore had registered a case against him in 2014, but they still failed to arrest him. The suspect was found involved in smuggling, after which the customs authorities had registered a case against him.

The Customs court has ordered the accused to appear before the court otherwise he will be declared as a proclaimed offender and his properties will be seized.

Now after compilation of the court notice, the Customs Court has announced him as proclaimed offender.
