Customs Court approves after arrest bail of suspect involved in boostin injection smuggling

KARACHI: Customs Court approved after arrest bail to suspect namely Noman Saeed son of Muhammad Saeed, who was absconder and court had issued non bail-able warrants, who was involved in a case of attempting to smuggle 6,000 boostin injection from Abu Dubai to Pakistan.

On September 27, 2019, above mentioned counsel appeared before the court along with his counsel and argued that his client is innocent and has been falsely implicated in this case, who is ready to face trail, therefore, court may grant his bail.

After the hearing, court granted his bail against the surety of Rs300,000 and issued notices to customs department and called police paper, court also directed suspect to appear before the court for confirmation or otherwise.

According to the interim charge sheet against above mentioned suspects and arrested lady Samina Farooq and submitted that arrested lady was coming from Abu Dubai vis Ethad Airline for Allama Iqbal International Lahore, however, due to suspicious activity, she was stopped and brought for searching and during the search of her two suitcases bearing Ethad Airline Baggage found 6,000 contraband Boostin Injections valuing or Rs18,000,000 which are ban in Pakistan on direction of Supreme Court of Pakistan.

Investigation officer had submitted that concerned court of Lahore had sent her for transit remand and after getting transit remand she had produced before this court for further physical remand.

He further submitted that prosecution is trying its level best for arrest of absconding suspects and they will be produced before this court when arrested.

According to the prosecution, case was registered for violation of under section 2 (s) of the customs act, 1969 punishable under clause (8) & (9) of section 156 (i) ibid read with baggage rules, 2005 complainant by Muhammad Umer Farooq, Preventive Officer, MCC JIAP, Karachi.
