Chaudhry Muzammil Kamboh appeared as counsel on behalf of the accused. However, after hearing full arguments from both the sides, the Customs Court has issued orders to release the importer Sajjad Butt on bail.

It should be noted that Dry Port Mughalpura Lahore registered a case No. 28/2021 on 27.11.2021 in which the Customs took a stand that an importer named Sajjad Butt tried to cause loss of Rs. 8200000 to the national exchequer through misrepresentation and financial fraud.

It was said that the containers were imported without permission from the Department of Explosives of the Ministry of Industries, which is a violation of the Import Policy Order 2020.

The Customs Department said that contrary to the provisions of the Customs Act, 1969, the containers were imported which is an offense under section 178,177,14 (A) 14 (89) (9) (8) and  section 156 (1) of the Customs Act 1969.
