LAHORE: The Special Federal Court of Customs Taxation and Anti Smuggling has sent three accused persons to jail on extension of judicial remand of 14 days in smuggling of Indian made saris.
According to details available Customs Today three accused namely Sajjad Qureshi, Abdul Sattar and Hammad Ahmad were arrested by the customs authorities when they were making attempt to smuggle huge quantity of Indian made saris.
Investigation team of Customs Preventive produced them before the court and asked for three days physical remand. On request of the investigation team customs Court handed over them to the investigation team for further investigation.
During hearing of the case accused Sajjad Qureshi asked for pardon from the court and said that this is their first mistake. The honorable court stated that you people are lucky that you have arrested in your first attempt, its mean God has saved you from sins.
Customs Court after hearing both parties approved 14 days judicial remand of the three accused and sent them to jail. Customs preventive has registered a case against the accused under Pakistan Customs Act 1969.
