Customs Court approves judicial remand of accused involved in smuggling

LAHORE: The Special Federal Court of Customs Taxation and Anti Smuggling sent an accused to jail on judicial remand of 14 days. Earlier the accused was on physical remand for three days and he was in custody of customs for investigations.

According to details available to Customs Today the accused Khursheed Ahmad was arrested by the customs intelligence. After arresting the accused Customs Ontelligence started investigation against them and got their physical remand

Customs intelligence counsel prayed the the court that accused person was involved in smuggling of cloths from India to Shadman market of Lahore and Faisalabad via different routes. Worth of the recovered cloths is Rs 6.6 million. He caused a huge loss to national kitty in the wake of taxes and duties. After completion of 14 days judicial remand he will be presented before the court for further proceeding. Pakistan Customs has registered a case against him under Pakistan Customs Act of 1969.
