Customs Court approves physical remand of accused involved in smuggling

LAHORE: The Special Federal Court of Customs Taxation and Anti Smuggling handed over three accused persons to customs investigation team in smuggling of Indian made saris.

According to details available to Customs Today three accused namely Sajjad Qureshi, Abdul Sattar and Hammad Ahmad were arrested by the customs authorities when they were making attempt to smuggle huge quantity of Indian made saris. Investigation team of Customs Preventive produced them before the court of Aqal Hussain Chohan and asked for three days physical remand. On the request of the investigation team Customs Court handed over them to the investigation team for further investigations. During hearing of the case accused Sajjad Qureshi asked for pardon from the court and said that this is their first mistake. The honorable court stated that you people are lucky that you have arrested in your first attempt, its mean God has saved you from sins.
