KARACHI: The Customs Court approved physical remand of suspect namely Rizwan Ali Khan son of Sharafat Ullah Khan and sent him back to customs lock-up, who was booked in smuggling of mobile phones, its accessories into Pakistan from Dubai.
On 13 December 2020, investigation officer of customs preventive produced him before the court and informed that on a credible information, customs officials intercepted above mentioned suspect who was coming from Dubai via Emirates Flight no EK-600 and asked him to declare goods carried by him.
He further informed the court that during the search of his luggage, customs officials recovered 116 no zero make up, 15 no Samsung Smart Watches, 28 Air Pods, 12 Sony Camera, 05 iPhone Empty Boxes, 20 mobile chargers, 19 Redo Wrist Watches, 07 Grattage Injector Syringes, 11 VGA Cards, 04 Chemical Transpires Small, 05 Samsung Tablet, 200 no Rams, 02 Laptop and 05 Samsung Mobile total valuing of Rs. 5, 205, 942.
Investigation officer stated that after the search, suspect was asked to produce lawful documents, however, he fails to provide any lawful documents, therefore, customs officials seized the goods and he was also taken into custody.
He submitted that prosecution needs further investigation from him, therefore, court may send him back to customs’ custody.
After the hearing, court sent him back to customs lock-up on physical remand and directed investigation officer to produce him on next date of hearing along with progress report.
