Customs Court approves physical remand of two smugglers

KARACHI: The Custom Court approved physical remand of two suspects involved in diesel smuggling. Judge Syed Faiz Rasool Rashdi approved the physical remand till January 28, 2017.

According to details, Investigation officer Pervaiz Ahmed Zardari informed the court that on a credible information the ASO staff, on January 22, 2017 during checking on Moucko Check Post Hub River, intercepted an oil tanker bearing registration no: TKS-540 filled with 45, 000 litters Iranian HSD worth Rs3.46 million.

Pervaiz Ahmed informed the court when the both accused were failed to provide any legal document the ASO staff arrested them and seized foreign origin diesel and offending vehicle.

He pleaded the court may send the accused for 9 days of physical remand. The court approved his request and granted physical remand. The court also directed the investigation officer to produce above named accused persons on next date of hearing along with progress report.
