Customs Court extends date of hearing of gold smuggling case

LAHORE: The Special Federal Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has adjourned the case of the accused who was arrested by the customs authorities from Allama Iqbal International Airport.

Sources told Customs Today that a suspect, Ibrar Islam, was arrested by the customs Preventive team from Allama Iqbal International Airport while he was travelling for Muscat. During search of his luggage, the customs officials found 550 grams of gold that he was trying to smuggle from Lahore to a Gulf state. The customs team registered a case against Ibrar and seized the gold.
