Customs Court extends interim bail of accused involved in smuggling

MULTAN: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling extended the interim bail of accused involved in smuggling of contraband items.

According to details, Investigation and Prosecution (I&P) team of Multan Customs has lodged FIR against owner of contraband items which were seized by Anti-Smuggling Organization few months ago.

It is important to mention here that Anti-Smuggling Organization has carried out effective raids on direction of Collector Saud Imran Ahmad in Multan Cantonment area of Uppel  Shaheed Road and Dhobi Mohallah on basis of credible information .

ASO team recovered huge quantity of smuggled items which were dumped in the private warehouses of Ameer Khan Pan Shop and they supplied these contraband items in different areas of South Punjab. Multan Customs teams intercepted huge quantity of contraband items of foreign origin including Gutka, chewing tobacco, Ratna, Pan Parag, Sheesha flavors, cigarettes and others during their anti-smuggling operation.

Customs have lodge case against alleged smugglers and arrested two Muhammad Naeem and other from warehouses. During the investigation of case, it was revealed that owner of contraband items were Arslan Khan and Multan Customs Investigation and Prosecution branch lodged FIR against suspect Arslan Khan.

Alleged smuggler have obtained interim bail from Customs court and after the comments of accused counsel Khawaja Muhammad Adnan Customs court extended the interim bail of accuse till 4th November in said case.
