LAHORE: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has granted a 14-day judicial remand of two accused and send them to jail.
According to sources, accused Muhammad Mukhtar and his accomplice Muhammad Imran were arrested by the Punjab Rangers on May 29, 2015 while they were trying to smuggle Indian alcohol and other items from India through the Okara border into Pakistan.
The Punjab Rangers had arrested them during their attempt to cross the international border and registered a case under the Pakistan Control of Entry Act.
On this, Customs Court Judge Nazeer Ahmad Gajana has extended their remand for 14-days. The accused will be produced again before the Court on next hearing of the case.
