LAHORE: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has extended the judicial remand of an alleged cell phone smuggler.
According to the details, an accused Tariq Kazmi was arrested by the Customs Appraisement at Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore when he was coming back from a Gulf state following the recovery of 70 costly cell phones from his luggage. The authorities of Lahore Customs presented him before the court where the accused was sent on judicial remand.
On Wednesday, Special Judge Chaudhary Ameer Muhammad Khan approved his further judicial remand for 14 days and sent him to jail for further trial.
In another mobile smuggling case, the court recorded statements of the parties and adjourned it for next week.
