Customs Court hears 16 cases on Thursday

LAHORE: In the Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling, 16 different cases were scheduled for hearing.

On Thursday during court proceedings, the customs court accepts the bail plea of an accused Ghulam Ali who was allegedly involved in smuggling of different items, including toys.  Ghulam Ali was in jail on judicial remand while the customs court accepted his bail against surety bonds and cash guarantese. Hearing of the pre-bail plea of accused Nasir Hussain was adjourned until the next hearing.

Cases scheduled for hearing on Thursday included tax evasion, customs, smuggling and narcotics. The Customs Court also recorded statements in six different cases.

Court also proceeded on statements of witnesses in four different cases on the day. Cases of Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot and Jhelum were scheduled for the day.
