Customs Court grants five-day physical remand of alleged smugglers

LAHORE: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has granted a five-day physical remand of two accused allegedly involved in smuggling of PVC material.

According to sources, two accused Abdul Saboor and Shamul Haq were arrested by the Customs Intelligence. They were allegedly involved in smuggling of PVC coated cable.

During action by the Customs Intelligence, more than 600 rolls of poly vinyl chloride coaxial cable were recovered from their warehouse located in Mominpura, Daroghawala area, Lahore. The material was loaded onto a truck bearing registration number JU-5533, which was parked at their warehouse. The value of the smuggled material was in millions.

Now, Judge of Customs Court Nazeer Ahmad Gajana has approved a five-day physical remand of accused Abdul Saboor and his accomplice Shamasul Haq for further investigation. The court has also directed the investigation team to complete the challan against the accused persons as soon as possible.
