Customs Court hears 17 cases on Monday

LAHORE: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling heard 17 different cases, including pre-arrest bail pleas of suspects on Monday.

The cases, including of tax evasion, customs, smuggling and narcotics, were scheduled for the day. Most of the cases were adjourned without any proceedings because parties concerned and lawyers did not appear in the court.

Hearing of pre-arrest bail pleas filed by Iftikhar Ahmad, Tahir Bharwana and Muhammad Aziz are also adjourned till new date. Tahir Bharwana was involved in currency smuggling, while two others were involved in smuggling and also wanted to Customs Intelligence.

Anoter smuggler named Behram Khan who is wanted in many smuggling cases also appeared before the court, while his case has been adjourned until next week.
