Customs Court hears 18 cases on Tuesday

LAHORE: Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling heard 18 different cases which were scheduled for hearing on Tuesday.

The Special Court adjourned the pre-arrest bail pleas of Khuram Shahzad, Mian Waqas Rabbani, Muhammad Hammad Akhtar and Bashir Ahmad, who are allegedly involved in smuggling cases.

Customs Court also extends judicial remand of Asif Ali in a smuggling case. Earlier, accused Asif Ali was on judicial remand after his arrest with a huge amount of smuggled goods.

The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling heard important cases of Tahir Iqbal and Amjad Ali and adjourned those cases of smuggling till next week.

Customs Court also recorded statements in cases against Niaz Muhammad and Rana Ashiq Ali. The cases of Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot and Jhelum were scheduled for hearing in Customs Court.

The cases, including tax evasion, customs, smuggling and narcotics, were scheduled for the day.
