Customs Court hears 19 cases on Thursday

LAHORE: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling on Thursday heard 19 cases, including pre-arrest, post arrest bail pleas, and recorded the statements of witnesses.

Hearing of pre-arrest bail pleas filed by accused Imran Pirzada and Salman Dawood were adjourned for new dates. A case against Muhammad Altaf was also scheduled for hearing in which the court recorded statements of the parties.

On the day, numbers of the cases were adjourned without any proceedings as the parties and lawyers concerned did not appear in the court.

Final arguments and statements of the parties concerned in a case of smuggling against Sara Adnan was also scheduled for hearing which has been adjourned until next week.

Cases of smuggling, tax evasion and narcotics from Lahore, Multan and Gujranwala were scheduled for Thursday.
