Customs Court hears 21 cases on Thursday

LAHORE: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling on Thursday heard 21 cases, including pre-arrest, post arrest bail pleas and recording of witnesses.

Hearing of pre-arrest bail pleas filed by accused Tahir Imran and Suleman Dawood were adjourned for new dates. A case against Hazrat Ali was also scheduled for hearing in which the court recorded statements of the parties. Framing of charges against Humayon Rasheed and Iqbal Baig were also adjourned for next week.

On the day most of the cases were adjourned without any proceedings as the parties and lawyers concerned did not appear in the court.

Final arguments and statements of the concerned parties in a case of smuggling against Shaukat Ali was also scheduled for hearing which is rescheduled for next week.

Cases of smuggling, tax evasion and narcotics from Lahore, Multan and Gujranwala were scheduled for Thursday.
