Customs Court hears 24 cases on Monday

LAHORE: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-smuggling heard 24 important cases on Monday, including those of pre-arrest bail pleas.

Cases regarding tax evasion, customs, smuggling and narcotics were scheduled for the day’s hearing. Cases of pre-arrest bail pleas were also scheduled in the Customs Court. Pre-arrest bail pleas of Hazrat Noor and Muhammad Ibrahim were also scheduled for Monday’s hearing, in which the Customs Court granted bails against guarantees.

The court also proceeded on recording statements of witnesses in six different cases. A case of narcotics was also scheduled for the day’s hearing against Malik Saleem.

The lawyers and parties in many cases were absent from the court on Monday due to hot weather. Cases of smuggling were also part of the day’s schedule, in which the court recorded the statements of the parties. In some cases, the Customs Court recorded statements of witnesses and issued necessary directives.
