Customs Court hears 24 cases on Wednesday

LAHORE: In the Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling, different cases were scheduled for hearing on Wednesday.

The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling heard 24 important cases including pre-arrest bail pleas of accused persons as well. The court adjourned pre arrest bail pleas of Muhammad Afzal, Ali Sheer and Tanveer.

The Special Court of Customs Judge adjourns all bail pleas until next hearing of the cases. The Custom Court also approved a bail in a case of alleged smuggling against cash guarantee of Rs 60,000. Accused Ansar had applied for his pre arrest bail in which Court issued bail against guarantee.

The cases, including tax evasion, customs, smuggling and narcotics, were scheduled for the day.  The Court also proceeded on statements and witnesses on four different cases.

The cases of Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot and Jhelum were scheduled for hearing, in which Court ordered prosecution teams to complete investigation challans of the cases as soon as possible.
