Customs Court hears 25 cases on Thursday

LAHORE: The Special Court Taxation and Anti-Smuggling heard 25 important cases on Thursday including pre-arrest bail pleas of accused as well.

During the court hearing, bail pleas of Muhammad Shoaib and Shahzad Tanveer were rejected. Both the accused were arrested in a smuggling case.

Cases which were scheduled for hearing including tax evasion, customs, smuggling and narcotics. Pre-arrest bails pleas of Faisal Khalid Butt and Gahny Khan were also scheduled for Thursday which Customs Court accepted against guarantees. Court also proceeded on statements and witnesses on six different cases.

Lawyers and parties in many cases were absent from the Court on the day.

Cases of smuggling were also a part of the day’s schedule in which Court recorded the statements of the parties. In some cases Customs Court recorded witnesses statements and issued necessary directions
