Customs Court hears 26 cases on Wednesday

LAHORE: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling heard 26 important cases on Wednesday, including those of pre-arrest bail pleas.

The court adjourned the bail pleas of accused until the next given dates. The cases that were scheduled for the day’s hearing included those of tax evasion, customs, smuggling and narcotics. The cases of pre-arrest bail pleas were also scheduled. In one of the bail pleas, the court accepted the bail of Muhammad Imran in a smuggling case.

As Eidul Fitr is approaching fast, the court is speeding up the hearing of cases to give the decisions before Eid. As many as 11 cases were scheduled for attendance of the accused.

The court also proceeded on statements and witnesses in four different cases on the day. In some cases, the Customs Court recorded the witnesses’ statements and issued necessary directives.
