Customs Court rejects bail of accused involved in Q-Mobile smuggling

MULTAN: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling rejected the bail petition of a suspect involved in the smuggling of cell phones in the country.

According to details, Customs Special Judge Sabir Tahir dismissed the bail petition of accused Muhammad Naveed who applied for bail after his arrest through his counsel.

Collectorate of Multan Customs I&P team submitted documents and Customs Counsel Amna Seyal submitted arguments against the bail of Muhammad Naveed in the Customs Court.

Earlier Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has club petitions of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Lahore and Multan Customs Investigation & Prosecution branch. Accused was already in the custody of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Lahore after his arrest in the smuggling of Q-Mobile and others.

It is also important to mention that Multan Customs team raided a house located in the Cantonment area and recovered non-customs paid mobile phones of 9700 (Q-Mobile) worth Rs100 million during their action.

Multan Customs nominated accuse Muhammad Naveed in the smuggling of recovered cell phones Q- Mobile after preliminary investigation and lodged criminal case against him.

Customs Court judge dismissed the bail application of accuse and adjourned the hearing of case for indefinite period.
