LAHORE: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling heard 16 important cases on Tuesday, including pre-arrest bail pleas.
During the hearing, the Customs Court rejected a bail plea of Nooruddin, who is involved in a smuggling case.
The cases that were scheduled for hearing included those of tax evasion, customs, smuggling and narcotics. The cases of pre-arrest bail pleas were also scheduled at the Customs Court. Lawyers and parties in many cases remained absent from the court due to heatwave in Lahore and Ramazanul Mubarik.
Cases of smuggling were also part of the day’s schedule, in which the court recorded the statements of parties. In some cases, the Customs Court recorded statements of witnesses and issued necessary directives.
