Customs Court rejects post arrest bail of accused involved in silver smuggling

MULTAN: Customs Anti-Smuggling and Taxation Court rejected the bail plea of accused who is involved in smuggling of silver.

According to the details, Multan Customs Preventive intercepted 14 kilogram silver from baggage of a passenger who was travelling to Dubai from Multan International Airport.

Customs staff recovered 14 kilogram silver from suspect who is identified as Rahim Ali resident of Rawalpindi.

Customs Investigation and Prosecution (I&P) branch lodged criminal case against accuse Rahim Ali on smuggling of 14 kilogram silver and foreign currency.

Accused Rahim was trying to smuggle silver from Multan to Dubai and during investigations Multan Customs found that accused was resident of Rawalpindi and he was travelling from Multan International Airport for smuggling of silver but customs staff foiled his attempt and arrested him in charge of smuggling.

Accused filed post arrest bail petition in the Customs Court but Customs Court judge rejected his bail after proceedings. Hearing of the case has been adjourned for 15 days.
