Customs court rejects pre-arrest bail of smuggling accused

LAHORE: Customs and Taxation Court special judge has rejected the pre-arrest bail of the accused of cloth smuggling.

During hearing of a case against Muhammad Sadique, who was allegedly involved in smuggling of foreign cloth, the judge dismissed his bail.

According to FIR no 24/2014, Sadique was involved in smuggling of huge quantity of internationally cloths of 3.5 million rupees.

According to details, Multan Custom intelligence and investigation stopped a truck at National Highway and recovered the cloth that was smuggled from Afghanistan via Balochistan. Customs intelligence team impounded truck (PKE-551) carrying smuggled goods of Rs 3.5 million and impounded the vehicle as well worth of 2 million rupees.

During the hearing, the customs and taxation judge dismissed the pre-arrest bail of the accused.
