Customs Court remands PIA’s air-hostess in gold smuggling case

LAHORE: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has sent Pakistan International Airlines’ airhostess, who is allegedly involved in smuggling of gold to New York, to jail on a 14-day judicial remand.

The air-hostess named Nuzhat Bukhari was arrested by the Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) on Tuesday and then she was handed over to the customs for prosecution. The customs prosecution team presented her before the court for remand where she accepted her crime. After that the court sent her to jail for judicial trial.

Earlier, the ANF claimed to have arrested a senior Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) airhostess from Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport in connection with an attempt to smuggle two kilogramme of gold to New York the United States (US).

The suspect reportedly confessed that she was trying to smuggle gold from Lahore to New York via PIA flight PK-721.
