Customs court seeks progress report against M/s Lucky Punjab Goods Forwarding Agency for smuggling of goods

KARACHI: The Customs Court directed investigation officer of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) to complete investigation against the proprietor of M/s Lucky Punjab Goods Forwarding Agency and others, who were nominated in the first information report (FIR) for smuggling of contraband goods.

On 18 November 2020, investigation officer of Customs Intelligence & Investigation  produced suspect namely Shafqat Khan son of Baz Khan and informed the court that on credible information, customs officials intercepted 22-wheeler Nissan truck/ trailer bearing registration no E-6449 and searched to goods in which stamped/ marked as via Karachi in transit to Afghanistan.

He further submitted that during the checking, the same found without any transportation bilty, therefore, customs officials seized 22 cartons of Sansa Tofi high quality cocoa cream filled compound chocolate, 07 cartons of sweet chocolate premium quality, cocoa cream filled compound chocolate, 13 cartons of London Milk Chocolat E, 12 cartons Smart Kids Milk Cocoa Chocolate, 28 cartons of Mcvities Digestive, the Original wheat Biscuit, 84 cartons of Cow & Gate First Infant Milk, 22 cartons of F/o Nestle Coffee Mate, 135 cartons of F/o Nescafe Coffee Classic, 28 cartons of Stute Jam assorted flavours, 37 cartons of Nestle Nesquik Strawberry Flavour, 135 creates of F/o Nescafe Gold Coffee, 106 kg of F/o Superior Export quality Shakti Lace, 23 cartons of F/o Nutella Ferrero Mit Brot-Sticks and other goods, total valuation of Rs10,561,240.

Investigation officer further submitted that the court may extend the physical remand of the arrested accused person for further investigation and arrest of real culprits.

After the hearing, the court approved the physical remand of the above -mentioned arrested suspect and directed the investigation officer to complete the investigation till the next date of hearing.
