Customs Court sends alleged cell phones’ smuggler on 14-days judicial remand

LAHORE: The Federal Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling Lahore send the accused involved in smuggling of cell phones and tablets on 14-day judicial remand.

Special Judge Nazeer Ahmad Gunjana heard the case of smuggling on Monday and issued the orders regarding the judicial remand of the accused.

As per detail, accused who had reached Pakistan from London through PIA flight No. PK-758 to Pakistan was intercepted by customs authorities at the Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore on suspicion and recovered 178 new and used cell phones, tablets of different brands.

While interrogating, accused Rehan said that cell phones and tablets were given to him by a person namely Usman in London and was asked to handed over the phones a recipient named Ahmad at Lahore airport.

Customs authorities after arresting the Rehan, presented him before the court where court sent the accused on three-days physical remand for interrogation.

After completing interrogation, Customs Intelligence and Investigation presented him before the court and got 14-day judicial remand of the accused.
