Customs Court sends alleged cell phones’ smuggler on remand

LAHORE: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has approved a 14 day judicial remand of a suspect in a mobile smuggling case.

As per details, the Customs Intelligence and Investigation arrested Naseer Khan Afghani when he was attempting to smuggle 330 sets of cell phone from Lahore to Peshawar and intended to smuggle these phones to Afghanistan.

On Thursday, the suspect was presented before the Customs Court where Judge Ameer Muhammad Khan sent him on judicial remand for further interrogation.

It is important to mention here that his accomplice named Muhammad Humayon is released on post-arrest bail against surety bonds.

According to details, accused Naseer Khan is a resident of Afghanistan and he has been living in Pakistan illegally.
