Customs Court sends alleged smugglers on 14-day judicial remand

LAHORE: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has sent two accused involved in smuggling of poly vinyl chloride coaxial cable on a 14-day judicial remand.

As per details, two accused Abdul Saboor and Shamul Haq were arrested by the Customs Intelligence following the charges of smuggling and later were sent on physical remand for interrogation for five days by the court.

More than 600 rolls of allegedly smuggled poly vinyl chloride coaxial cable were recovered from their warehouse located in Mominpura, Daroghawala areas of Lahore. The material was loaded onto a truck bearing Registration No. JU-5533 which was parked at their warehouse.

Now, Judge of Customs Court Nazeer Ahmad Gajana has approved a 14-day judicial remand of accused Abdul Saboor and his accomplice Shamasul Haq.

The court has also directed the customs officials to complete challan against the accused till the next hearing.
