LAHORE: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has approved the judicial remand of the suspect of a tyres smuggling case.
According to the details, Multan Customs Intelligence arrested Abdul Rehman, a resident of Multan, following the recovery of 200 tyres from his warehouse. The tyres for trucks, cars and buses worth Rs 3 million were seized during the raid, as these were allegedly brought into country without the payment of duty/taxes.
The Customs Intelligence registered a case against the accused under Section (1) s, 156, (1), (89) and 178 of Pakistan Customs Act, 1969 and produced him before the Customs Court.
Specials Judge Chaudhary Ameer Muhammad Khan had sent him to jail on judicial remand.
