Customs Court sends four cloth smugglers to jail on judicial remand

LAHORE: The Special Federal Court of Customs Taxation and Anti Smuggling has approved the judicial remand of four cloth smugglers for 14 days who were arrested from Sialkot.

According to details, the accused persons were arrested from Sambrial while a Customs team intercepted a truck bearing No. TKV 6423 near Sambrial and found a huge quantity of non-duty paid Indian cloth. Total weight of the smuggled clothes was almost 6,423 kilogram worth more than Rs 10 million in local market.

The Customs Collectorate Sambrial arrested four accused namely Muhammad Rafique, Basit Rafique, Nasir Khan and Muhammad Riaz. Customs authorities presented all the accused before the court and asked for physical remand as to dig out the main chain behind the smuggling activities in Sialkot and Sambrial.

Customs court approved their three days physical remand which was ended and now all accused have sent to jail for further judicial trial.
