LAHORE: The Special Federal Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has approved physical remand of a suspect, Rizwan Ahmad, in a mobile smuggling case.
According to the details, Rizwan Ahmad was remanded to the custody of the Customs Investigation and Prosecution for interrogation. Special Judge Chaudhary Ameer Muhammad Khan granted a seven-day physical remand of the suspect.
Rizwan Ahmad was arrested by the customs authorities at Lahore airport while he was coming back from a gulf state following the recovery of 141 mobile phones from his luggage. The mobile phones were of different brands, including Samsung, Apple and Huawei.
The customs authorities registered a case against him and presented him before the court where they asked for physical remand. The court accepted the request and granted seven days remand.
