Customs court sends two to jail for one month imprisonment

LAHORE: The Special Federal Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has sent two accused to jail for one month in an alcohol smuggling case.

According to details available to Customs Today, two culprits namely Muhammad shakeel and Azhar Ali were arrested by the Punjab Rangers at Wagha border while they were attempting to smuggle bottles of alcohol from India. They were caught red handed by the mobile party of the Punjab Rangers. The Rangers investigation team presented them before the customs court. After completion of investigation, the rangers presented a challan against the accused. During the hearing of the case, they were found guilty as per witnesses and proofs. Customs Aqil Hassan Chuhan announced the verdict on Monday and sent them to jail for a month’s imprisonment.
