Customs Court sends vehicle smuggler to jail on judicial remand

LAHORE: The Special federal Court of Customs Taxation and Anti Smuggling has sent an accused on a 14-day judicial remand to jail.

Earlier, Customs Intelligence authorities seized a non-customs paid Toyota Corolla car worth Rs 1 million and arrested an accused who was driving the car.

The Customs Investigations team presented the accused before the court of Chaudhary Ameer Muhammad Khan and asked for judicial remand of the accused.

Special Federal court of Customs Taxation and Anti Smuggling has approved fourteen days remand of the accused Jamil and sent him to jail fpr futher trial.

It is essential to mention,  that Customs Inspector Malik Mubeen seized Toyota Corolla on Wahdat Road. The suspect is a resident of Sibi. Further investigations are underway.

It was revealed during investigation that a number of people are running a network in Lahore who are involved in supplying non-customs paid smuggled vehicles from Northern Areas to the provincial capital of Punjab.
