Customs Court to take up 20 customs, income tax related cases today

KARACHI: The Customs Court will take up more than 20 customs and income tax related cases on Monday (today).

According to the cause list, regular hearing, prosecution evidences and confirmation of bail applications were included in these cases. The court office has already issued notices to the parties concerned and investigation officers for attending the court on Monday (today).

However, on Saturday, the Special Judge Customs & Anti-Smuggling Karachi Syed Faiz Rasool Rashdi has taken up 25 cases.

During the hearing,  counsels for the defense (accused/applicants), customs and income tax department including special public prosecutors argued before the court.

According to the cause list, 12 cases out of 25 cases were fixed for formal hearing of accused namely Qadeer Zareef & others, Ali Akbar & others, Syed Arshad Ali & others, Sardar Ameen Farooqi & others, Ghufran Tahir and others.

10 out of overall 25, cases were fixed for prosecution evidences against accused namely Arif Pervaz & others, Naeem Ahmed & others, Ammar Khalil & others, Abdul Wahab & others, Sheikh Jee, M Salim & others, Ovais & others, Razwan Yousaf & others, Muhammad Shaharyar.

Remaining 3 cases were fixed for confirmation of bails of accused namely Malik Waqas Ahmed & others, Syed Noushad Azam & others and Muhammad Yaseen & others.
