ISLAMABAD: Customs authorities have decided to coordinate with traders and businessmen to curb smuggling activities in the country.
According to sources, during anti-smuggling drives, traders and trade unions create hurdles in the way of customs officials when they take action against ‘smugglers’.
Sources added Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) is also focusing on courier companies as some courier companies are playing a role of facilitator in smuggling of foreign origin products.
Sources asserted honest officers are being deployed in ASO. Several meetings will be held with traders and businessmen for better coordination to stop smuggling from the country.
