Customs deploys 11 more officers at AFU to enhance monitoring

ISLAMABAD: Customs Collectorate has deployed 11 officers in different sections at New Islamabad Airport in order to enhance monitoring and thwart the smuggling attempts.

Assistant Collector Headquarters has issued transfer notification of at least 11 customs staff in order to manage the shortage of staff and officers in the newly operational Islamabad Airport.

According to the notification, Deputy Superintendent Mohammad Ashfaq from Air Fright Unit AFU, Inspector Uzma Nafees from Bonds Section, Inspector Tassawar Mustafa, Mohammad Hameed, Haider Muhsin and Alamzeb from Islamabad Dryport, Inspector Shabana Naveed and Mirza Afzal from International Mail Office, Shahrukh and Khalid Mehmood from Headquarter have been transferred to Customs Airport Traffic. Meanwhile Inspector M Shezan has been posted at IMO.

It is important to mention here that the new airport has more capacity of passengers and cargo, and customs team has to remain vigilant and alert in order to curb any sort of smuggling attempt.
