ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has handed over a 28-marla of land to Customs Department to build a Customs Guest House at G-11/4 Islamabad for customs officers living in Islamabad. Member Customs Zahid Khokhar constituted a committee of the Customs Collectors led by Collector Saeed Khan Jadoon of Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Islamabad as chairman to look after the project.

According to details given by sources of MCC Islamabad that the initiative was started in 2012 to build the said guest house at Islamabad, but the process was stopped due to some unknown reasons. The FBR again took up the matter seriously and formed a committee of the collectors from North, South and Central Regions to materialize the idea so the committee marked the land by the help of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Islamabad.
The sources said the project will provide comfortable space to those officers who are posted at Islamabad region during their services. The sources maintained that the respectable accommodation has been a big issue for the officers of the Customs Department.
