Customs directed to provisionally release kitchen appliances consignment

KARACHI: Sindh High Court has granted provisional release of a consignment of kitchen appliances.

A SHC appellate bench, comprising Justice Munib Akhtar and Justice Mrs Ashraf Jahan, was hearing a petition filed by Fotile Kitchen Works challenging a circular issued by Collector Customs denying benefit of provisional release. The petitioner later tagged the petition with three dozen other identical petitions.

The same bench also adjourned hearing of a petition filed by one Guldar seeking release of an oil tanker. The counsel for petitioner appearing before the bench sought time to sort out the issue.

The bench allowing the request adjourned further proceedings till March 26.
