Customs Directorate of IPRs holds workshop

LAHORE: The Directorate of Customs Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) on Wednesday held a workshop on IPRs violations and how to increase intra-agency cooperation to overcome them.

According to details, Directorate of IPR Additional Director Mubashar Baig briefed customs officials about curbing IPRs misuse and increasing intra-agency cooperation against the violations.

The participants were also trained in detecting violation of IPR and its communication to the directorate.

The World Trade Organisation has made it mandatory for the member countries to ensure that no violation occurs.

The Customs Department has set an IPRs directorate to serve the purpose in letter and spirit. The directorate will be headed by a director and its regional office will be headed by an additional director.
