Customs Enforcement recovers smuggled auto parts worth Rs20m from Saddar

KARACHI: Collectorate of Customs Enforcement recovered over 30 tons of smuggled auto parts from various ground-floor godowns at Arrows Auto Parts and Bearing Market in Saddar. The market value of seized auto parts is Rs20 million in international market.

Sources told Customs Today that Collector Basit Maqsood Abbasi received credible information that huge quantity of smuggled auto parts are dumped in various godowns located in Arrows Auto Parts & Bearing Market.

He immediately directed Deputy Collector Raza Naqvi to take all necessary measures for recovery of smuggled also parts. The operation took place in the wee hours of August 13th, 2024.

The recovered goods were transported to the Collectorate’s warehouse using five rented Mazda vehicles.

Legal proceedings are still underway, and an First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against the culprits in the Customs Court.
