Customs Enforcement recovers smuggled polypropylene worth Rs80m from Sunder area

LAHORE:  Collectorate of Customs Enforcement team has seized huge quantity of smuggled polypropylene (plastic dana) from a godown located in Sunder area.

Sources told Customs Today that Chief Collector Customs Enforcement Zulfiqar Ali Chaudhary received credible information that huge quantity of smuggled plastic dana is dumped in a godown in Sunder. He immediately directed Collector Ali Abbas Gardezi to take all necessary measures to recover the smuggled goods.

Collector Ali Abbas Gardezi conducted a successful raid at a godown in Sunder area and seized smuggled polypropylene (plastic dana) amounting to Rs 80 million. The detained goods were brought to Pakistan without payment of leviable duty and taxes of Rs40 million. The goods have been taken into possession and case has been referred to Adjudication for further proceedings. The Chief Collector has lauded the efforts of ASO and directed to make more concerted efforts for eradication of menace of smuggling from Lahore.
