Customs Export issues 12 show cause notices to two defaulter factories

KARACHI: The Customs Exports issued 12 show cause notices and nine final notices two defaulter factories during the month of July.

Sources told Customs Today that customs authorities issued these notices to M/s Sufyan Chemicals Gharo and Tabassum  Garments and Export Thattha.  M/s Sufyan Chemicals was issued notice no: 190/2017 for using wrong Customs Tariff  headings to get its yellow bleach  consignment cleared in June and caused a loss of Rs 3.8 million to the national exchequer.

Meanwhile, the Customs Exports unearthed another tax evasion by M/s Tabassum Garments and Export in a consignment of silk fabrics. The customs authorities, after careful investigation, issued a show-cause notice to the company and asked them to submit the evaded tax amount within fortnight.
