Customs Export issues final notices to four companies involved in tax evasion

KARACHI: The Customs Exports has served two show cause notices and two final notice on tax defaulters and tax evaders for recovery of dues.

Sources told Customs Today that Custom Exports issued notices to four companies, including M/s Aryan Wajih and sons, M/s Sehrish Garments, M/s Mubasshir Traders Company and another.

M/s Aryan Wajih used the wrong Pakistan Customs Tariff (PCT) headings to get a consignment of used dresses and different kinds of used steel crockery cleared on July 22, 2017 and caused the national kitty a loss of Rs 4.56 million.

During the scrutiny of the import data, the Customs Exports detected the misuse of the PCT heading for which it was issued with a show-cause notice no: 242/2017 for paying the evaded amount of tax and duty.

Meanwhile, the Customs Exports unearthed another tax evasion committed by M/s Sehrish Garments who got cleared a consignment of different wool.

The customs authorities, after a careful investigation, served a show cause notice on the company and asked it to deposit the evaded tax amount into the treasury within fortnight.

Another company M/s Mubasshir Traders Company got cleared a consignment of used chairs and sofa set. The customs authorities issued a final notice and asked to submit all the documents for consignment soon and submit the balance amount.

Sources said during next week the Customs Exports will investigate three more cases which are related to Karachi based defaulters companies and two defaulter companies which is located in Hyderabad, and Custom Export will issue more notices.
